Blackcurrant (Ribes nigrum L.), also known as black currant, black bean fruit, purple plum, tiger's ear, the genus of the family of tea-currant, small shrubs, its mature fruit is a small black berries, rich in vitamin C, anthocyanins, can be eaten. It can also be processed into juice, jam and other foods. Blackcurrant is very rich in vitamin C, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, calcium, anthocyanins, and phenolics.
Black currant extract, also known as blackcurrant red extract, has purple-red anthocyanins as its active ingredient.



Product Function

(1) Blackcurrant has antioxidant activity, of which the acidic extract of blackcurrant ethyl acetate has the strongest antioxidant activity.

(2) Blackcurrant antioxidant extract has a significant effect on reducing physical fatigue, and its effect is related to its antioxidant activity.

(3) Blackcurrant extract was beneficial in eliminating the fatigue induced by GABA during high-intensity training, and slowed down fat metabolism and reduced energy expenditure.

(4) Blackcurrant extract had a protective effect on ECV-304 of umbilical vein endothelial cells damaged by hydrogen peroxide, and its mechanism of action may be related to antioxidant.

(5) Blackcurrant extract reduced the early apoptosis rate and total apoptosis rate of H_2O_2-induced ECV-304 apoptosis, suggesting a protective effect on endothelial cells.

(6) Blackcurrant polysaccharide has immunomodulatory effects.

A: The extract solvent is always depending on the active ingredient in the raw material, regulation and customers' requirement. The solvents mostly used for extraction are water and ethanol. Even the solvent other than water used in the procedure, the solvent residue in the extract product also can conform with ICH Q3CR5.

Q3: Is there any other ingredient used in the product?
A: It depends. For product which is hard to be dried, we need to add some maltodextrin into the extraction solution before drying. The maltodextrin we used is food-class carrier, from non-GMO corn. We can share customer with the ingredient composition table.

Q4: How to make sure the quality of the product?
A: Firstly, every batch finish product must be tested and qualified before delivery. We can send a specification sheet or CoA for confirmation. The HPLC chromatography graph also can be provided. Secondly, we can provide pre-ship sample to customer for quality confirmation.
