Monascus yellow is a natural coloring agent extracted from purple red Aspergillus (Monascus purpureus) and red Aspergillus (M.anka) using modern biotechnology, the main components are ankaflavin and monascin. Red Yeast yellow pigment is mainly used in candy, jelly, cold drinks, etc., for yellow coloring agent.


Product Function

Monascin is an edible natural pigment extracted from red currant, which is yellow in color; in addition to being an edible pigment, it also has certain physiological effects, such as lowering blood lipids, blood pressure, blood ammonia, antibacterial and tumor inhibition.
Hypolipidemic effect of Monascin
The lactone part of Monacolin can exist in the form of free acid, and this structure is closer to the structure of HMG-COA, so it can competitively inhibit HMG-COA.
Bacteriostatic effect of Monascin
Monacolin has a strong antibacterial and bactericidal effect on some bacteria that cause diseases in humans and animals.

Monascus is an excellent edible natural pigment, it is stable in nature, and has strong heat resistance (at a high temperature of 100 ºC hue remains unchanged), light resistance and excellent coloring of proteins and other characteristics, and the study of the safety of Monascus (toxicology test) has proved that the consumption of Monascus is safe and non-toxic, is worth vigorously promoting the edible natural pigment.
ankaflavin is an orally active agonist of PPARγ extracted from Monascus-Fermented red rice.Ankaflavin has a selective cytotoxic effect and induces apoptosis in cancer cells.Ankaflavin has anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-atherosclerotic and hypolipidemic effects.
